February 25 @ 8:00 am - March 1 @ 5:00 pm

Join Australian horseman, Jason Webb, at his unique Starting the Young Horse Course in 2019. Not only will you gain lifelong knowledge for working with young horses, you can be fully involved in your young horse’s first rides.

What to Expect:

Jason’s aim is to offer a fun and supportive environment where everyone is made to feel welcome and can progress at their own pace. This starting course is for advanced riders and handlers wishing to start their young horse under saddle in a safe environment, with specialist facilities, under the guidance of Jason Webb and his assistant trainer, Hamish Gillanders. During this course, you can participate in as much or as little as you’d like, safe in the knowledge that Jason and Hamish can step in at any point.

The course will operate differently to our usual camps and clinics. It will be conducted in a small group, with an individual focus, working with each horse in the morning, followed by a group lunch. Participants are then welcome to leave, or to stay on the yard and watch Jason and Hamish working with a range of young and remedial horses on training. The aim over the five days is to establish each horse’s groundwork and to have had their first rides, although progress will depend on each horse and rider.

Owners will then have the option of taking their horses home, or to leaving them at Risebridge Farm to continue their education with Jason and the team with a 15% discount on training fees.

If you would like to learn from the course, but do not have your own young horse, you are welcome to come as a spectator; you will be amazed at how much you will learn from the fence!

Please note that Jason will speak to all participants during the booking process to ensure that this is the course for you.

Course Activities include:

  • Ground Work training for the unbacked horse covering content from Jason’s online training website www.yourhorsemanship.com
