a relaxed hack around the farm

Join us as we continue the education of Elsa and Cookie, now on their 6th ride Today was all about transitions while enjoying a relaxed hack around the farm. We're also introducing periods of rest, teaching them to switch off, stand patiently, and take in the world — skills that will stand them in great stead in their future careers. After the hack, we headed back to the arena for their first proper canter under saddle. We let them run into the transition and bowl along, allowing them to find their balance and confidence. Every horse reacts differently when they feel a rider at a faster pace: 👍Some get a little tight and rush 👍Some, like Cookie, throw in a cheeky kick up 👍Others, like Elsa, just cruise along smoothly All of these reactions are completely natural at this stage of their education — and we simply go with what they offer, letting them learn in a calm, positive way
