CLOSING DATE: Friday 30th November 2018
Members may enter both the Ridden and Groundwork Challenges. You must choose between the Best Performance or Most Improved classes for each Challenge (per horse; one horse means two entries total maximum – one for Groundwork and one for Ridden). If you have access to multiple horses, feel free to enter separately with them too.
Oct-Nov 2018 Challenge Cup: Groundwork: Stopping on a mark
This challenge looks simple, but can you and your horse get it right? Watch Jason explain the Stopping on a Mark challenge:
Oct-Nov 2018 Challenge Cup: Ridden: Long-and-low
When Jason has a little trouble, you know it’s going to be a tough one! This Long and Low challenge will see you aim to keep your horse’s head below the withers for a minute – not easy, but you can do it! To enter, you must also post a photo (or include a close-up in your video perhaps) of sweat on your horse (not under the leather) after the attempt.
You may enter one of the following per horse per Challenge (Ridden/Groundwork):
Class One – Best Performance – If you think you’ve got the skills described by Jason in the video, record your best effort at completing The Clock, and simply enter!
Class two – Most Improved – You must show at least two attempts; Jason will judge how much you have improved over the challenge period. The first video will no doubt look a little messy and is a real first draft of the work you have yet to embark on. The last video is once you’ve done your homework and you feel your horse has made good progress. You may submit these attempts as separate videos if easier for you, but please make it clear which is ‘before’ and which is ‘after’.
Don’t forget Jason is in the forum to help anyone that needs it, you can post a video and ask for help in the entry page.
Entries Close on: Friday 30th November 2018
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded for the “Best Performance” and the “Most Improved”.
All prize winners will be announced on the forum pages, our facebook pages and newsletter and posted out within a month of being awarded.

What our members are saying about the Challenge Cup
Thank you so much Jason. Like the others i have greatly enjoyed doing the first challenge and found it really beneficial – especially watching the videos (even tho it makes me cringe!) and receiving your detailed feedback. Getting a medal is the icing on the cake. Thanks also to Kay and everyone else for their support – it makes it even more fun.
Wow! Thank you Jason. We had great fun doing the challenge. I must say that I thought it would be much easier. But when faced with taking her out of her safe environment, it proved to be a very useful excercise. We’re now exploring the outside World a bit more. I love the challenges. Such a great way to improve your horse and horsemanship whilst sharing the experience with others. I think I may celebrate later. And Joss will have a treat.
As we’re showing off our medals, here’s one of me and Joss sporting our fabulous challenge cup. What a lovely surprise to get it in the post. Thank you Jason Webb and Sarah for making Yourhorsemanship so inclusive and fun.
🙂 I love all the encouragement and especially that the prizes aren’t just based on who did it best. I wasn’t able to take part in this months challenge, but can’t wait to try the April one.
“Mac and I would like to thank Your Horsemanship and Jason Webb and Sarah O’Neill for our bronze and silver medal for the March challenges.
I thought as Mac had done most of the work he should model them but as they wouldn’t go over his head we came up with another idea!
A very big thank you – feeling PROUD! Here I am with Mac in the field sporting my new Toggi polo shirt for Best Participant and medals! A great big thank you to Your Horsemanship for my prizes for the March challenges and of course to my great Steed!
The polo shirt was kindly donated by our sponsors Toggi
